Flat rate billing can be a tricky proposition because both the moving company and the client have to come to a mutual agreement. Invariably, someone will get the shorter end of the stick at the end of the move, could be the company working too long and getting a ridiculously low hourly rate or could be the customer paying an outrageous hourly rate because the job got completed too quickly. Flat rate billing is only recommended for people or businesses with extensive experience in the moving industry in general. Billing by the load is fine for long distance services, anything leaving Calgary to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa or Edmonton is billed this way.
