Calgary Moving tips from Calgary Professional Movers!

Moving can be a stressful experience, especially in Calgary where the weather is not always especially pleasant...Calgary winters are known to be very cold and rough making moving in that season particularly more difficult than usual. We recommend you move in the summer time if possible but since things don't always work out that way here are a few winter moving tips.

After a Calgary snow storm

Reserve a parking spot for the moving truck, you don’t' want movers to walk around obstacles of slush and snow with you valuable belongings in their hands. In advance, put some salt or sand near where you will expect the tail gate of the moving truck to stand, we might use a ramp and we might not, will all depend on the current weather situation, however, the movers will need traction either way. Make a clear path to the house at ALL entrances; most furnishings will fit thought the front door but some might have to be taken in your home using alternate routes.

Moving inside the house

Be careful what kind protection you will us on your carpets, the wrong material will make the movers slip and risk damaging your belongings in addition to offering very little adequate protection. Cardboard boxes laid in a clear path should be used, you should also make sure that every cardboard box that is overlapping each other is tightly tapped and preferable stapled.
